The extraction of oregano oil is usually done through the use of the cold pressing process. The essential oils are squeezed out of the crushed leaves of oregano without the use of any type of heat. The oregano oil also contains two important minerals for the body. These minerals include iron and manganese, which are very vital in the maintenance and improvement of the body’s overall condition. With the increase of iron in the body, insomnia and anemia can be prevented. Meanwhile, the increase of manganese levels in the body can also help in improving the metabolism and the function of the digestive system. Manganese can also help in the improvement of calcium absorption and can be useful in regulating the blood sugar level of the body.

Once the oil in taken in orally, it can help in the relief of pain caused by joint problems such as arthritis and tendonitis. Aside from this, the oil of oregano can also be applied topically on the surface of the skin in order to soothe minor inflammation and swelling. Because of this, many people also consider oreganol as an effective pain reliever or analgesic. Oil of oregano can also be useful in treating different types of fungal infections of the nails and the skin. It helps in wart removal and can also be mixed with extra virgin coconut oil to become an effective remedy against fungal infections of the toenails and fingernails. For women, the use of oregano oil can help in the maintenance of menstruation. This prevents any irregularity in the cycle and it helps women avoid menstrual cramps and dysmenorrhea.

Nowadays, the oil of oregano can be administered in different ways. Aside from taking it orally in capsule form, there are also other preparations that are made specifically for topical use only. This means that the oreganol is only applied on the top or surface of the skin and should not be taken by mouth.  However, there are also oils in liquid form that can be drunk just like syrup or beverage fluids.
